Our glasses featured in steamy bedroom advert for Dulux
Some of our glasses have recently appeared in an advert for Dulux paint.
The lady wears a pair from our Scandinavian range and the gent steams up a pair of Mai Tai

Are you sure they are your glasses?
If so, when they say “What would you change?” I’m not sure they are portraying your products in a positive light.
I mean lets be honest, they aren’t exactly the prettiest glasses around.
That was my first impression anyway.

Mike, they definitely are our glasses, and I’m not sure I’m seeing the advert in the same way.
To my mind, Dulux is saying if these people redecorate their bedroom, then their love life will become more steamy, as illustrated by their – rather lovely – glasses steaming up. The question ‘What would you change’ challenges people to consider what they could redecorate in their own homes, rather than what would they change in the scene before them.
Do you think they chose the wrong glasses in the advert?

I think the type of glasses used in the ad also kind of suit the situation. For example that these people have become a bit boring and nerdy perhaps – they only read in bed these days! So they used the glasses that look a bit geeky
