Enhance your glasses

These glasses come with our standard optical plastic lenses. For higher prescriptions and aesthetics you may wish to enhance your glasses by selecting thinner lenses. Thinner lenses also have the benefit of being lighter so they're more comfortable to wear.

Upgrade your lenses

    Our standard optical plastic lenses.

  • Polycarbonate 14% typical reduction reduction in lense thickness

    Polycarbonate

    + £40

These are about the same thickness as our thin (1.6) lenses but are slightly lighter making them an ideal choice to compliment a light weight or titanium frame. Polycarbonate lenses are also very strong, about 12 times more impact resistant than standard plastic.

  • Thin Lenses 14% typical reduction reduction in lense thickness

    Thin

    + £40

Our qualified opticians would like to suggest thinner lenses which are made of a special higher refractive index (1.6) material which reduces the thickness of your glasses making them more attractive to look at and they may even reduce the weight on your nose.

UV400 and scratch resistant coatings included for free saving you £20

  • Ultra thin 33% typical reduction in lense thickness

    Extra thin

    + £85

If your prescription is above 4.00 +/- our qualified opticians would recommend that you consider an extra thin and light lens to make your finished glasses look cosmetically more attractive.

  • Ultra ultra thin 39% typical reduction in lense thickness

    Ultra thin

    + £125

These are one of the thinnest optical plastic lenses generally available on the market today, perfect for people with very high prescriptions (+/-6.00), or for anyone who wants very elegant glasses which may be lighter in weight. These have a refractive index of 1.74.

All 3 lens coatings included for free saving £25

Protect your glasses & your eyes

There are ways we can enhance the optical and cosmetic qualities of your new lenses.

  • Scratch resistant coating

    Scratch resistant coating

    special offer £10 £5

No lens material — not even glass — is scratch-proof. However, a lens that is treated front and back with a clear, hard coating does become more resistant to scratching. This means you will save money in the long run by not having to replace your lenses as often.

  • Anti-reflective coating

    Anti-reflective coating

    + £15

Standard optical plastic lenses transmit only about 91% of light to the eye. The rest is lost to front and back surface reflections. However, a revolutionary treatment developed to reduce reflections from camera lenses is now available for eyeglass lenses. Anti-reflective lenses transmit more light which provides improved night vision, decreased computer glare, reduced eye strain, less overhead fluorescent glare and great looking glasses.

  • UV400 protective coating

    UV400 protective coating

    + £5

Just as we use sunscreen to keep the sun's UV rays from harming our skin, UV treatment in lenses blocks those same rays from damaging our eyes, giving you the “peace of mind” that you are providing your eyes the maximum protection. Overexposure to ultraviolet light is thought to be a cause of cataracts, retinal damage and other eye problems.
