CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER (CFO)
LONDON
The role sits within senior management team of 4: CEO, COO, CFO and Marketing Director. This is a close-knit and fast moving team. We are looking for a CFO who can provide guidance and enable us to reach our goals.
You will work closely with CEO on company strategy, funding strategy, trend, and scenario analysis. You will lead a small finance department with a finance manager/controller and accounts assistant reporting into this role.
The Candidate
The candidate will have in-depth experience of working in similar fast- growth VC-backed companies over multiple financing rounds. Ideally this will have been acquired in a consumer-facing, product-led businesses.
In terms of personality, we are looking for a strong, pragmatic individual who is quickly able to grasp the business drivers and how the Company works.

Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Management
- Act as partner to the CEO on overall strategic direction
- Instigate and develop relationships with current & prospective
investors
- With the management team drive the business forwards
- Lead Board & Investor communications
Financial Management
Overall responsibility for all financial aspects of the business
including:
- Supervision of preparation of management accounts
- Leadership and development of Finance team
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Financial control and reporting
- Tax and treasury
- HR, insurance
- Any other matters
Strategy & Management
- Act as partner to the CEO on overall strategic direction
- Provide input on strategic development of all aspects of the business
- Develop forecasting models to support decision making
Instigate and develop relationships with current & prospective investors
- Lead Investor & Director communications
- Instigate, maintain and develop relationships with key advisors including, Bankers, Auditors and other external advisers
With the management team drive the business forwards
- Help develop the corporate culture
- Provide input on tactical operational decision making
- Assist management and staff in managing and driving KPIs
Lead Board & investor communications
- Coordinate preparation of Board & investor reporting
- Lead investor presentations
- Anticipate and field Investor & Board queries
Financial Management
Leadership and development of Finance team
- Provide leadership and mentoring to the Finance Team
- Update personal development plans and job descriptions as required
- Monitor department structure and systems to ensure optimum return on resources
Budgeting and forecasting
- Lead and drive budget and re-forecast processes incorporating P&L, balance sheet and working capital (including cash) components
- Produce annual budget pack with CEO for consideration and approval by the Board
- Produce re-forecasts as required to reflect significant events impacting current budget or forecast
Financial control and reporting
- Ensure the finance function maintains a strong internal control environment and records all transactions in an accurate and timely manner
- Develop, capture and monitor Key Performance Indicators for appropriate elements of revenues, costs and working capital
- Manage month-end close process and preparation of management accounts for Board and Management within reporting deadlines
- Provide the CEO, Board and Management with ad hoc management information as requested and required
- Manage year-end reporting and audit process ensuring that final accounts are subject to minimal audit adjustments
- Ensure that audited accounts are filed at Companies House on time.
Tax
- Control the Group's taxation obligations (including VAT; PAYE & NI; Corporation tax)
- Ensure all Tax Return information is accurate; is filed on time and that no penalties are incurred
Treasury
- Monitor and control operating cash flow against approved budget and forecast
- Manage the day-to-day banking relationship
HR
- Monitor and control key aspects of HR
- Monitor all aspects of payroll calculation, salary payments and taxes
- Develop benefits package including pensions; health insurance, travel insurance
Insurance
- Manage insurance requirements including contents; public and products liability, directors and officers etc.
Other Matters
- Overall responsibility for the implementation and operation of ERP & Financial systems (currently MS Dynamics/Navision)
- Assume responsibility for any other financial matters not covered in the above

Glasses Direct sells prescription spectacles over the internet, via a catalogue and over the telephone. We are a fast growing company that prides itself on being able to deliver excellent customer service.
The purpose of the roles is to ensure that customer queries are dealt with speedily and effectively. This means being the first point of contact with customers, providing them with product and service information, dealing with queries and responding to written correspondence. It also involves processing orders from the internet and mail order catalogue. We are a close knit team in which everyone is expected to help out to get jobs done.
Spectacles are essentially a medical product and our Customer Service Advisers need to be very well informed. To this end, we have an extensive technical training programme. The training will give you basic optical knowledge which could help you, if you were interested, to pursue a career in Optics.

FULFILMENT ASSISTANTS SWINDON
Once orders have been professionally authorized by our dispensing team, they are sent to our fulfillment area. As a Fulfilment Assistant, you will be responsible for ensuring that the orders are fulfilled accurately and efficiently. This involves selecting the correct frames, noticing discrepancies, ensuring that the orders are correct when they return for the laboratories, that they are packaged properly and dispatched to customers.
