Security and online transactions

Your payment information is safe with us

You will notice a padlock symbol in the address bar of your browser. This indicates that our website uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology. It allows personal data and payment information to be encrypted and prevents it from being intercepted between us and you. SSL also turns our website’s address from HTTP to HTTPS - the ‘S’ standing for ‘secure’.

It utilises encryption to protect data transmissions, authentication to ensure you’re connected to the correct server, and data integrity to make sure the correct data is submitted.

Furthermore, we process all card transactions via Braintree, which is one of the UK’s leading processors of reliable, secure and fast online credit and debit card transactions. Some of its features include:

  • Level 1 PCI compliance - This means that it processes over six million transactions annually and meets the highest security standards of the Payment Card Industry.

  • Data encryption via the Braintree Vault - Cardholder data is managed in the Braintree Vault, using multiple encryption keys with split knowledge and dual control. This data store cannot be connected to via the internet.

  • Authentication and session management - Passwords are never stored directly in the database, and all API and Control Panel communication between merchants and Braintree is conducted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).

In the unlikely event of unauthorised use of your credit or debit card, you must report it immediately to your card issuer.
