Dispensing optician

Role: Dispensing optician

Location: Swindon

Salary: negotiable

Hours: 37.5, Monday to Friday

The role:

Reporting to the Customer Services Manager (who is a Dispensing Optician), you will join a team of optical assistants. The main part of your job will be rolling up your sleeves and getting stuck in as a team member taking customer orders over the telephone, providing optical information, answering emails and processing orders. We run an efficient ship and expect a high degree of productivity from all members of the team. Multi tasking skills are essential! In addition, your role will involve coaching, training and supporting the team from a technical optical point of view. You will be involved in overseeing all orders to ensure they comply with our strict practice standards. .

Optical Assistant

The role:

We are looking for Optical Assistant to join our Sales and Service team. Your role will be to get stuck in as a member of the team taking customer orders/queries over the telephone, answering emails, answering customer queries on the internet, data checking, fraud checking, processing orders and sometimes all at the same time! We expect a high degree of productivity from our team members and so organization and multi-tasking skills are essential We are continuously looking to upskill members of our Optical teams and so there is plenty of opportunity for training and professional development. From time to time, you will also be required to go and help out in our Fulfilment centre or Glazing Laboratory. This will give you a break from the telephone and enable you to see how other parts of the business work. Full training will be given.


Key responsibilities:

  • Responding promptly and effectively to incoming customer calls web queries and emails
  • Data checking and fraud checking
  • Dealing with customer returns refund requests and placing replacement customer orders
  • Feedback recurring customer issues to Team Leader and relevant internal department where applicable
  • Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of Glasses Direct customer experience
  • General ad hoc admin duties.


Requirements and qualifications:

  • Desirable: previous experience in a call centre/customer service environment
  • Essential: experience of using Microsoft Word Excel and the Internet
  • Good telephone manner and a reliable team player

Content Marketing Assistant

The role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and talented individual to join the growing London based marketing team as a Content Marketing Assistant for Glasses Direct. With an ambitious web redesign complete, the next stage for the continued growth of the brand is a focus on content strategy and customer experience. Reporting to the Customer Experience Manager, you will assist with all aspects of content management and CRM from copy writing and blog publication to conversion optimisation and email analysis.


Key responsibilities:

  • Support the management of all marketing campaign and content assets for Glasses Direct across the website CMS and email platform
  • Assist with the production and analysis of email and Direct Mail as part of the evolving brand CRM strategy
  • Assist with personalisation and multi variant testing across the website and marketing newsletters to improve the overall customer experience
  • Propose and create unique editorial content for use across Glasses Direct owned and earned media as part the evolving brand content strategy Assist with photoshoots and video production working with the creative and social teams Report on the performance of all content marketing campaigns and suggest improvements
  • Quality control of all brand owned media and joint ownership of brand guidelines to ensure copy and images are displayed correctly
  • Conduct regular industry research and monitoring competitor activity
  • Build and maintaining relationships with all business areas to share ideas and best practice
  • Support the marketing team and wider business as and when required.


Requirements and qualifications:

  • An enthusiastic and ambitious individual willing to contribute ideas and energy. Previous experience working within a fast paced commercial environment is essential
  • A natural interest and demonstrable knowledge of digital marketing and publishing
  • Strong written English skills and natural aptitude for creating engaging editorial content
  • Creative thinker with strong communication and organisational skills
  • Attention to detail and strong proof reader
  • Self starter with the initiative to work alone but equally comfortable as part of a team
  • Previous experience working within a fast paced commercial environment is essential
  • Experience of working within an ecommerce brand is preferable
  • Experience of CMS and email platforms is preferable but not essential.


Performance Marketing Executive

The role:

The success of performance marketing has played an important part in the growth of the company and we are now looking for a talented and ambitious individual to join the London marketing team to further develop this key area. Working in the London office and reporting to the Programmatic Marketing Manager, you will assist with all aspects of performance marketing across Paid Search and Affiliates.


Key responsibilities:

  • Assist with the daily management of all PPC accounts across multiple brands and countries via Google DoubleClick)
  • Support the growth of the PPC with the use of new search channels (Google Shopping GDN RLSA Bing etc) to meet revenue and ROI targets
  • Plan and execute the performance marketing testing plan (bid strategies ad copy & creative landing pages) to drive conversion rate and ROI across all paid channels
  • Analysis of online marketing campaign data in Excel and third party tools
  • Provide regular reporting on all performance channels
  • Assist with in depth channel analysis including LTV conversion paths and attribution
  • Assist with the management and development of UK affiliates for multiple brands
  • Assist with the management of Groupon and daily deal campaigns for customer acquisition
  • Coordinate production of assets for and launch of all performance marketing campaigns
  • Build and maintaining relationships with all business areas to share ideas and best practice
  • Support the marketing team and wider business as and when required.


Requirements and qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will have some previous experience of paid search working either directly via Adwords or basic concepts via an agency
  • Possessing a strong demonstrable understanding of online marketing concepts
  • Experience of working within a results driven multi-channel marketing environment
  • Has implemented or improved processes that involve multiple business owners
  • Highly numerate with strong Excel skills and a keen interest in using data to drive the decision making process
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to operate on a wide range of activities and projects at one time
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential in a role where communication is key
  • Pro-active and able to work autonomously but equally comfortable as part of a team.
