Excellent glasses great value for the money

The average rating for this pair is that the product was chosen with the primary purpose of using them for driving, and whilst the lens are perfect, I understood the order to be one that would react to the sunlight and therefore offer protection for my eyes whilst driving. They do react very well outside the car in direct sunlight, however whilst driving, the windscreen seems to prevent the lens darkening and therefore lessens my protection. I do not recall seeing the information which would have clarified this situation and which is rather disappointing. Is this a resolvable issue? Thanks!
