Support Breast Cancer Awareness Month with Pink Ribbon glasses

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is a perfect time to come together, show support and help drive change. This year, you can make a difference just by choosing your next pair of glasses.

At Glasses Direct, we’ve created the Pink Ribbon collection — a stylish, confidence-boosting range that helps raise awareness and funds for life-changing breast cancer research and support.

25 years of impact: the Pink Ribbon Foundation

2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the Pink Ribbon Foundation — a UK charity dedicated to supporting people affected by breast cancer and funding essential healthcare initiatives.

Each year, around 55,000 women and 400 men in the UK are diagnosed with breast cancer. But together, we can help change that by helping raise money, funding research and championing support groups that offer expert care.

Can men get breast cancer?

Yes, although rare compared to female breast cancer, breast cancer in men can and does occur. It most often affects men over 60, but it can happen at any age. Regular NHS check-ups, knowing the signs, and spotting unusual changes early can make all the difference. Early detection is key, whatever your gender.

Three Pink Ribbon acetate glasses are displayed against a pastel pink background. One pair, a pink Havana square frame, stands upright on its side. Beside it rests a pink and brown striped cat-eye frame, while in front, a nude square frame sits neatly folded.

Wear your support with pride

Every frame in the Pink Ribbon collection subtly features the iconic pink ribbon logo — a symbol of strength, hope, and solidarity. These styles are easy to wear, flattering on all face shapes and designed to bring meaning to your everyday look.

Style with purpose

From soft cat-eyes to timeless tortoiseshells, each pair is crafted from lightweight, durable acetate and comes with high-quality prescription lenses.

And the best part? For every pair sold, we donate £2 to the Pink Ribbon Foundation— the UK’s leading breast cancer research charity, supporting breast cancer treatment, awareness campaigns, and patient-focused services. We believe it’s fashion that funds real change.

On the far right, a woman with dark curly hair and red lipstick wears pink Havana cat-eye glasses. Beside her, a blonde woman with straight, medium-length hair sports transparent pink frames. Next, a woman with a bright pink quiff wears brown striped cat-eyes. On the far left, a woman with a colourful pink headscarf completes the group with square pink Havana glasses.

Other ways to show support for Breast Cancer Awareness

Even small actions can have a big impact. Here’s how you can get involved — not just in October, but all year round:

Early detection saves lives

Encourage friends and loved ones to attend their routine NHS breast cancer screening and book a mammogram. Early detection can lead to more effective breast cancer treatment, including options like hormone therapy.

Donate to raise money

From bake sales to charity walks and other fundraising events, every penny raised helps fund vital research and support services. Whether you’re giving or getting involved, every action matters.

Listen and learn

Read real stories and educate yourself on things like the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, the risk of breast cancer during menopause, and the importance of spotting unusual changes early. Help break the stigma. Knowledge is power — and it can help save lives.

Final word

Feel inspired to take part this Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Whether you’re spreading awareness by wearing pink, sharing stories or choosing a pair from the Pink Ribbon collection, every action counts.
