Sophie and Jake Quickenden share their favourite styles

Famous celebrity couple, Sophie and Jake Quickenden, have recently shared their favourite Glasses Direct frames on Instagram. We are very excited to team up with such a wonderful duo.

Sophie Quickenden’s style, sense of humour and open-door attitude into her hectic life, has made her a firm favourite in the creator world.

A mummy to beautiful boys, Leo and Freddie and wife to Jake Quickenden, Sophie’s content consists of everything from home and interiors, family and parenting, business, as well as food and drink, all whilst heavily focusing on the fashion she wears throughout and how she navigates (and accessories) her busy lifestyle.

She would describe herself as bubbly, warm-hearted, loving and has a neutral style to her wardrobe.

As well as being a proud family man, Jake is a multi-talented singer, TV star and former footballer. He appeared on The X Factor and was runner-up in series 14 of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! Jake also famously won Dancing On Ice in 2018 alongside professional dance partner, Vanessa Bauer.

We spoke to Sophie, an influencer who has also previously starred on TV, to find out why she and Jake love shopping with Glasses Direct. She tells us how convenient it is to shop online, the designs they usually go for and also how they both style their favourite eyewear.

It’s quick and easy. Convenience is essential as a busy mum. I’m always looking for speedy ways to get things done between meal times, housework, playtime and school drop-offs. Are you more inclined towards bold and statement-making frames or subtle and minimalist ones?

I definitely go for more classic and minimal colours when it comes to choosing frames. I like to find frames that I can wear with everything and I will get as much wear as possible out of them.

How do you match your glasses to your style? What kind of shapes and designs do you prefer?

I try to switch up the style of the glasses I wear from the styles of sunglasses I wear. I prefer to wear larger framed glasses in either gold, black or tortoiseshell. That gives a smart, sophisticated look and can be worn with any outfit. I like to try out a variety of different styles.

With sunglasses, I tend to go for smaller frames that give a more 90s look and make more of a statement. Also, they need to function as part of an outfit.

Out of the frames you selected, which one is your favourite and why?

My favourite frames are Felicity by Finelight, as they are the ones that surprised me the most with how much I loved them. I believe that the rimless style would suit anyone and go with any style of clothing; casual, dressy, even gym attire! I also absolutely love both mine and Jake’s sunglasses, Imperial and Brazen-52, they look really expensive and have such a cool, vintage vibe to them.

So, Sophie, you selected some frames for your husband Jake, what do you like most about his style?

Jake is definitely more adventurous when it comes to his style. He likes to wear things that are a bit more out there. I love that he has his own style and it’s different from mine. At times we match and other times we are Ying and Yang. When picking out styles for him, I wanted to choose more classic and smart frames that I know will still go with his style and that he will love to wear.
